Praise and Prayer Update (December 10, 2021)

A big thank you to all of you who continue to pray for us and the ministry of Heritage College and Seminary. We sense our need for God’s protection and provision. I would echo the words Paul spoke to the Corinthian Christians: “You must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many” (2 Corinthians 1:11).

Last week I asked you to pray for me (Rick) as I preached an Advent message in a local church. I also asked you to pray for Stan and Donna Fowler as they prepare to move to a home that will accomodate Stan’s needs. God is at work, answering our prayers. You can watch the sermon I preached on December 5th at Wallenstein Bible Chapel here. Also, Stan and Donna took possession of a new home on Tuesday. Some of our Heritage students and friends from their church showed up to help get the home ready.

My prayer request for this week relates to the Christmas Party we are hosting for the new Canadians who come to our ESL (English as a Second Language) program at Heritage. Linda leads a group of students and alumni to provide free ESL classes. These classes help people learn English but also introduce them to the life and love of Jesus.

On Sunday evening, December 12th, we will have an outdoor Christmas gathering at Heritage. After some delicious hot soup, Heritage students will sing Christmas carols and Linda and I will tell the story of Christmas. Please pray that the weather holds (right now it’s supposed to be clear and cold), that people come, and that the message of Jesus is presented in a clear, compelling way.

Here’s the patio where we will hold the Christmas Party!
