A BIG thank you to all who prayed for us last week; the Lord graciously answered your prayers. Linda had the joy of encouraging other ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers at a conference on Saturday. My ankle healed up enough that I was able to drive to Ottawa and preach at the Met on Sunday (the sermon is posted in the previous post). We want to give thanks to God for His grace and empowerment!
Linda and I have been reading through the Bible together this year. Right now we are in the middle of John’s gospel. We’ve both been struck by how often Jesus invites us to pray with faith, believing God can do amazing things (John 14:13; 15:7, 15:16; 16:23-24). So with that in mind, please pray with faith for the following requests:
- Our admissions team is actively promoting Heritage to high school students and young adults across Ontario. Please ask God to direct many students to come to Heritage for life-changing, biblical training. I’m convinced that even one year at Heritage could be life changing.
- This weekend Linda and I will be speaking at a retreat for young adults. We will be addressing the crucial topic of God’s design for men and women (Genesis 1-4). Pray that God would help us communicate His Word in a clear, compelling way.
- Next Tuesday, I’m speaking in chapel on the subject of “Praying as a Child to the Father” (Romans 8:15-17). This sermon is part of an all-school emphasis on prayer. Ask the Lord to continue to grow our students, staff and faculty to be more delighted and diligent in prayer!
Jesus said, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it” (John 14:13-14)
