Abide

We came home from our road trip to massive weeds in our gardens. But we also came home to a happy surprise….

A few years ago Rick spoke in Niagara on Abiding in Christ using John 15 and the vine and branches. Since that is Canada’s wine country, someone went out to their vineyard and gave us one “slip” of grape plant that is a producer.

We saw no fruit, no fruit, no fruit, but like the Old Testament imagery of “everyone sat under his vine”, we let the vine grow up over our pergola.

We came home this weekend to seeds of fruit everywhere in it. I did nothing – God did this.

For all of us right now, so stressed about so much that is truly overwhelming – may we just abide closely in Him. May we sit under and in His vine and “just be branches” from which fruit comes.

Be still, Abide.
