This week is Graduation Week at Heritage but it feels extremely different than previous years. Normally, we are hosting end-of-the-year celebrations, including a banquet where we commission graduates as “essential workers” in ministry.
On Saturday (April 25th) we had planned our 2020 Commencement. The pandemic has forced us to postpone the graduation ceremony until next fall, but we still rejoice that over 90 men and women are graduating this year from Heritage (one of our largest graduating classes in memory).
Would you join me in praying for these requests this weekend?
Pray for the 90+ graduates from the college and seminary. Ask the Lord to encourage their hearts even when they are disappointed we cannot hold the official graduation ceremony this Saturday. Pray they will be led by the Lord as they take next steps towards serving Christ.
Pray for Heritage students who are planning to do summer internships in churches, camps, and in other countries. Pray that creative ways will be found for them to complete their internships and serve the Lord.
Pray for the school’s financial standing in this challenging time. We have issued temporary layoffs to a number of staff members and are being extremely careful in all expenditures. Pray that sufficient funds will be given to help us end our fiscal year in a solid, sustainable way.
Pray for our leadership team as we seek to make wise decisions regarding the fall semester. Much is still unknown to us. Thankfully, it’s all known to God!
