In our last Praise and Prayer Update, I requested prayer for several upcoming teaching opportunities. I’m grateful to report that God answered prayer. Linda’s training sessions for women and for ESL leaders went very well. I also sensed God’s strength as I preached at Lighthouse Fellowship Baptist.
I’m writing to ask you to pray for us again this weekend. We are headed north to Timmins, Ontario. Saturday evening we plan to present a marriage seminar (2 ½ hours) at First Baptist Church. It should be a special evening; the couples coming to the event will enjoy a catered dinner before the evening seminar. The topics we will cover include pursuing and protecting oneness in marriage, resolving conflicts, enjoying intimacy, and reflecting the beauty of the relationship between Christ and the Church. Please ask the Lord to use the seminar to help couples understand and align their marriages with the life-giving wisdom found in God’s Word.
On Sunday morning, I’m scheduled to preach at First Baptist. My message for the morning focuses on living in anticipation of Jesus’ second coming. Please pray that this message will help all of us get ready for Jesus’ return by “loving his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8).
Thank you for being a vital part of our ministry through your prayers. As Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 1:11, “you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
