Praise and Prayer Update (September 10, 2026)

In my devotional reading this morning, I was reminded of the importance of having others pray for us. In 2 Corinthians 1:11, Paul writes, “You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.”

I would echo Paul’s words and say that those of you who pray for us are a huge help in our ministry for Christ. When people tell me they pray for me, I often respond, “Thank you! That’s probably why we are still standing!” Your faithful prayers have helped sustain and strengthen us as we serve the Lord Jesus.

With that in mind, I want to request prayer for Linda and myself this coming weekend. Here are several specifics I’d ask you to remember in prayer.

Linda’s Heritage Class on Friday: Linda will be teaching all day on Friday at Heritage College and Seminry. Nine women are enrolled in the course on writing Bible Study Curriculum. Please pray for Linda’s stamina and spiritual insight as she teaches. Ask the Lord to help the women in the course grasp key concepts so they will be able to write Bible study materials for their churches.

Linda and Rick’s ESL Training Sessions on Saturday. Saturday afternoon, Linda will help train leaders from 6 or 7 churches on how to start and sustain an effective ESL ministry (English as a Second Language). Rick will help train those leading ESL Bible Studies. Please pray that these training sessions prove helpful for everyone who comes. Pray that the Lord will use church-based ESL ministries to love new Canadians towards Christ as they learn English.

Rick preaching in Kincardine. On Sunday morning, Rick will be preaching at Lighthouse Fellowship Baptist Church in Kincardine. This Sunday marks the church’s 32nd anniversary. Pray that Rick’s message on Investing in the Future (Jeremiah 32) will encourage and inspire believers to continue to be a lighthouse for Christ in their community.

Thanks for helping us through your prayers!
