Our perspective and priorities matter. They shape the way we live—how we spend our time and money. That’s why our perspective and priorities matter to God. He wants our perspective and priorities to align with His. He wants our viewpoint and our values to be shaped by His Word and His will.
This message comes out clearly and powerfully in the brief book of Haggai. Haggai, along with Zechariah and Malachi, was addressed to the Jewish exiles who returned from captivity in Babylon. It was written to help these believers get their perspective and priorities realigned with God.
I recently posted reflections on each of the fourteen chapters of Zechariah (you can download a free eBook containing those reflections here). Over the next two weeks, I plan to post chapter reflections on the short book of Haggai. These chapter reflections are designed to help you better understand and apply the timeless message of the book. Starting next Tuesday, I’ll post one chapter a week.
I want to invite you to spend some time this summer reading the book of Haggai. You can use my chapter reflections to assist you in understanding and applying what you read. As you do, you’ll be challenged and encouraged to align (or realign) your perspective and priorities with those God wants us to have.
