Linda and I have been on the road over the past few weeks, seeing our family in the US and speaking at several conferences. We are grateful for the Lord’s sustaining grace and for the privilege of serving through teaching. On a personal note, we had a wonderful stop in New York City on route to a conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In New York, we took a ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island. We were able to use the computer database system they have to do some research on family members who emigrated to the US back in the 1920s through 1940s.
As we finish out the month of October and turn the page to November, I have a few prayer requests to ask you to remember when you pray for us.
Heritage Courses. On Saturday, November 1st both Linda and I will be teaching at Heritage College and Seminary. Linda is training women who teach the Word to other women. I will be training younger preachers. I’d ask you to pray that we can help these students grow in their ability to faithfully and fruitfully communicate God’s Word to others.
Pastors Conference. Next Tuesday and Wednesday (November 4-5), I (Rick) will be speaking at a Pastor’s Conference. My theme is A Pastor’s Heart. Please ask the Lord to give me strength for the four sessions (Guarding Your Heart, A Shepherd’s Heart, A Leader’s Heart, A Preacher’s Heart). I value and respect the important work done by these pastors and want to encourage them in their ministry for Christ.
ESL Training. Each Tuesday and Wednesday Linda leads a Heritage course designed to equip students to be ESL teachers (English as a Second Language). Linda’s desire is to equip students to teach English with a gospel heart. Pray for Linda and the Heritage students as they bring the love of Jesus to the new Canadians who come to the weekly conversation group.
Thank you for praying for us and with us!
