Praise and Prayer Update (August 26, 2022)

It’s Friday but Sunday’s coming.

This Sunday afternoon, over twenty student leaders will arrive on the Heritage Campus to begin a week of training for their leadership roles in the upcoming school year. One of the things I love about Heritage is the way it gives students an opportunity to serve and to grow in their leadership capacity. These student leaders will be vital to the spiritual climate of the campus in the coming months. We’re excited to welcome them.

On Labour Day Monday, a host of new and returning students will move into the residence halls. It’s always a joyful day, filled with anticipation as students begin to make friends and settle in for the coming year at Heritage. This year we have close to 100 new students (between the college and seminary!).

Here are several prayer requests I’d ask you to remember when you pray for us.

Student Leaders. Pray that each of the student leaders will be strengthened for their important roles on campus. They set the tone for the rest of the study body. Ask the Lord to grow them and use them in the lives of others.

Faculty and Staff. Pray for our profs as they prepare for upcoming courses. Ask the Lord to empower our staff as they serve the students (and their families) in so many ways.

Spiritual Protection. Jesus told us to ask the Father to keep us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). Linda and I are sensing spiritual attacks as we get closer to the start of the new year. We both are recovering from COVID and needing renewed strength for the year ahead. Please ask the Lord for spiritual protection.

Thanks for praying for us and with us. It means a great deal to us!
