Monday was a glorious day at Heritage College and Seminary.
The Lord provided picture perfect weather. Our student leaders provided move in help to all arriving new students–carrying boxes and books into the residence halls.
After an outdoor burger lunch, we held a Dedication Service near the Gazebo. We sang our praises to the Lord and offer prayers of dedication for the coming year.
Classes started yesterday (Thursday) and I (Rick) had the privilege of speaking to all our first-year college students about the Five Big Themes we emphasize at the college: 1. Learn to Know God; 2. Lead Yourself First; 3. Love Others Well; 4. Lift Up the Church; 5. Live on Mission. In the afternoon, I also taught the first preaching course of the year. Training young preachers/teachers is part of my calling and a deep passion area. By the end of the day, I was tired but energized.
At the same time, Linda was meeting with ESL (English as a Second Language) leaders to map out the coming year for our ESL Outreach. She was encouraged by the way the Lord has put together a team of high-quality leaders and helpers. We are trusting God for a fruitful year of helping new Canadians learn English and move closer to Christ.
Please pray for us as we launch into this new school year. Ask the Lord to keep our campus physically safe and spiritually vibrant. Pray that the students would have their lives shaped for life and ministry. Pray for eternal impact! Thank you for praying for us!
