Praise and Prayer Update (August 20, 2021)

Linda and I had the joy of returning to Ottawa last week to speak at a West Village Church and spend time with our daughter. Now we are back in Cambridge, gearing up for the start of the fall semester at Heritage. This is an exciting time of year for us as we anticipate the arrival of a new wave of students.

Here are some requests I would ask you to remember when you pray for us.

Pray for our faculty and staff team as we make final preparations for the fall. We are planning to host “live” classes that will also be livestreamed for those not physically present. Pray for our tech team as they get all the classrooms ready. Pray for our faculty as they prepare to teach their courses. Pray for our staff as they make plans to welcome the students. Pray that the campus would remain a safe, healthy place in every way.

Pray for the students who are still applying to Heritage for the fall semester. We still have room for students at both the college and seminary levels. (If you are interested in taking courses, you will find more information here). Pray that the Lord would continue to direct students to come to Heritage to be trained for life and ministry.

Please continue to pray for Dr. Stan Fowler and Mark Beach. If you have read our previous posts, you know that Mark is in ICU dealing with the effects of battling COVID. Stan is still in a Virginia hospital after suffering a stroke this summer. Mark continues to make slow but steady progress in regaining strength. Stan has faced further complications (blood clots and some heart failure/weakening). Please pray that Stan and Donna will be able to return to Canada for treatment. Ask the Lord to strengthen Mark and Theresa on this long road towards recovery.

Thank you for your prayer support!

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts and I am helped; my heart exalts and with my song I give thanks to him. Psalm 28:7
