Convocation at Heritage

This morning we held our Convocation chapel service at Heritage. What a delight it was to see students, staff and faculty gathered in our gym. Some things seemed quite different than previous years: our faculty didn’t sit in the front in full regalia, everyone wore a mask, and students sat two meters apart (except for those who are part of the same residence apartment “bubble”). In spite of these differences, the sense of expectancy for what the Lord will do in our lives this year was still strong.

After prayers of dedication and the granting of several academic achievement awards, Dr. Stephen Yuille, our Vice President of Academics, preached on three truths from the Psalms that can stabilize our souls in uncertain times. His message moved our hearts to greater trust in the Lord as we launch into this new semester.

Did you know you can join in on our weekly chapel services? We are livestreaming the chapels this year. To join us live on Tuesday mornings at 11:30, all you need to do is to type this link into your search browser: http://discoverheritage.ca/student-life/heritage-live/

If you are unable to join us on Tuesday mornings at 11:30, you will find the sermons uploaded on our You Tube Channel: HeritageCS (https://www.youtube.com/user/HeritageCS)

The theme for our chapel messages this fall is The Cost and Rewards of Discipleship. I’ll be preaching many weeks but we also hear from other Heritage Professors and several special guests.

Please pray that God will use the preaching of His Word to shape and strengthen our souls!
