Praise and Prayer Update August 23, 2019

HIt’s a busy, joyful time on the Heritage campus as we prepare for the coming school term.

Our faculty and staff gathered this week for a training day and a family bar-b-que.  The campus is getting final touches (mulch for the gardens, paint in the residence halls).  Most importantly, we’ve been praying, asking the Lord to do mighty things this year at Heritage.

Here are some prayer requests I’d ask you to remember this week.

Sunday morning, I (Rick) preach at Woodside Church in Elmira.  I’ll be preaching a sermon on “Investing in the Future” from Jeremiah 32.  Please pray that the Lord will use this message to motivate His people to intentionally invest in God’s future with their time, energy and resources.

On Sunday afternoon, our Heritage student leaders arrive for a week of training.  Under the direction of D.J. Mudde and Chuck Schoenmaker, these stellar men and women will pray and prepare to serve the student body in a variety of ways.  Ask God to work in and through these student leaders.  They help set the tone for the entire year!

Linda is preparing to teach a Heritage course on Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).  The students in this class not only get classroom instruction but also practical experience as they help in community TESOL classes.  Pray for Linda as she prepares to teach.  Pray that more students will sign up to be part of this course.  Our desire is to send out students who bring the love and light of Christ to new Canadians through TESOL programs.
