Prayer Update December 16, 2016

lights-on-treesAs I sit down to write this prayer update, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Heritage.  The campus is blanketed with snow and Christmas lights shine brightly on the spruce trees outside my office window.  Inside, things are getting much more quiet. Most students have finished their final exams and have headed home for the holidays.

As we wrap up a stellar semester at Heritage, I have some praise notes and prayer requests to pass along to you.

  1. god-at-workPraise: Today in several classes, I heard students share specific ways God has worked in their lives over the past few months at Heritage.  It thrilled my heart.   Please join me in thanking the Lord for the shaping work He is doing in our students.
  2. Praise:  Linda and I have completed a busy fall season of teaching at Heritage and speaking across Ontario. We are tired but deeply grateful to God for His sustaining and empowering grace.  It’s a joy to serve the Lord.
  3. Pray:  We are thankful for the financial contributions Heritage has received in response to our Christmas Newsletter.  Our focus this December is raising funds for scholarships.  Pray for a continued strong response in the final two weeks of the year.
  4. construction-zonePray:  Next week construction crews will begin remodeling our student centre:  new flooring. lighting, furniture and even a fireplace.  The funds for this makeover were given in our Summer Surge campaign!  Pray that the work will be completed quickly and ready for the new semester.

Linda and I wish each of you a most joyous Christmas.  Thank you for your friendship and your partnership in the work of training spiritual leaders for Canada and beyond.  Check back again for prayer updates in the New Year!
