Linda and I recently returned from celebrating US Thanksgiving with our kids and grandkids down in the States. We had a joyful, meaningful time together around the Thanksgiving table. We even got to hear our son Ryan preach a Thanksgiving message at the church were he is one of the pastors.
Now we are home in Canada preparing for upcoming ministry opportunities. I’m writing to ask you to help us through your prayers in the coming days.
Heritage Courses. Tomorrow we are both at Heritage for a full day of classes. In Linda’s course (Women Teaching God’s Word) and in my course (Expository Preaching), students will be presenting the biblical messages they have prepared. Pray for us as we seek to coach and encourage each of these students. Pray that the women in Linda’s class will be equipped to teach other women in their local churches. Pray that the men in my course will be equipped to preach as pastors in churches across Canada.
ESL Christmas Celebration. Next Wednesday, Linda and some Heritage students will host a Christmas party for the new Canadians who have been coming each week to learn English. It’s been amazing to see God work in lives through this ministry. The gospel has been presented and Bibles (Japanese, Arabic, Gujarati) have been given out as gifts to those eager to have one. Please pray that the meaning and message of Christmas would be heard and received at this Christmas Celebration.
Christmas message. On Sunday, December 14th, I (Rick) will be preaching at a church in Guelph on the theme of “Joy in our Weary Nights” (from Luke 2:8-20). Please pray for Jesus to be honoured and lives impacted through my sermon.
Physical Health. Both of us have had lingering health challenges over the past weeks. Please pray for healing and strength so we can continue to serve the Lord faithfully and fully.
Thank you so much for partnering with us through your prayers. It makes a difference!
