As we finish up a very full week, I want to give thanks to God and express my gratitude to all of you who read these updates and make a point to pray for the requests I highlight.
In the last Praise and Prayer Update, I asked you to pray for Linda and me as both of us were teaching all-day courses at Heritage on Saturday, November 9th. By God’s grace, the class time proved very valuable. Linda teamed up with Dr. Terri Stovall to train a group of women engaged in ministry in their local churches. I teamed up with Dr. Jon Stairs to coach 18 young preachers.
I also requested prayer for my preaching opportunity at the National Conference for the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptists. I spoke three times on the theme of Truth in a Shifting Culture. I went into the week sensing a great need for God’s strength to be perfected in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). I can joyfully report that His grace was sufficient. Each time I spoke, I was strengthened to proclaim God’s Word to the pastors and ministry leaders at the conference. Thank you for helping through your prayers.
This week, I’d ask you to pray for me as I finish up my time as the Interim Preaching Pastor for Grandview Church in Kitchener. This fall, I’ve been preaching through the book of 1 Thessalonians. Tomorrow (November 17) the message is on Getting Ready for the Big Day (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11). I finish the series on November 24th. Please ask the Lord to enable me to faithfully and fruitfully preach His Word. Also, pray for Grandview as they look for their next lead pastor.
Thank you for being partners in prayer with us.
