On this Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, it’s a perfect time to practice Psalm 103:2: “Bless the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”
One of the reasons I’m thankful this year is for friends far and near who pray with us and for us. So many of you have remembered us in your prayers over the past months and years. God has answered those prayers time and time again. Thank you for your ministry to us through prayer!
In my last Praise and Prayer Update, I asked you to pray for the college and seminary courses Linda and I are teaching at Heritage. By God’s grace (and in answer to the prayers of His people), the classes we taught last Saturday went very well. Both of us were able to invest in the lives of students who will serve Christ, His Church and His global mission.
I also asked you to pray for me as I preach at Grandview Church in Kitchener. Until the end of November, I’m serving as the church’s interim preaching pastor. Right now, we are working our way through Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians. Last Sunday’s message was on what a Godly Concern for others looks like. If you carry concerns for the spiritual welfare of others (your children, your grandchildren or Christian friends), you may find it helpful to listen to the message from 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13. You can watch it here. The message begins at the 26:30 mark.
A song that helps my heart rehearse and rejoice in God’s goodness is CeCe Winans’ rendition of Goodness of God. Listen to it and let it move you to give thanks to our good and great God.
