In Psalm 139, David reflects on the truth that God knows everythings about us. Every move we make. Every thought we think. Everything we do. Every word we say.
David’s initial response to this searching truth is to run and hide. To run from the God who knows us inside and out.
But while that’s how the psalm begins, it’s not how it ends. In the final verses we see David running towards God, inviting Him to search his heart and his secret thoughts.
In between the opening and closing of Psalm 139, we find the reason why David goes from running from God to running towards Him. What changes everything is something else that’s true about God:
The One who knows you best is the One who loves you most.
