Praise and Prayer Update (June 21, 2024)

Linda and I just returned from a Reed family gathering in Rhode Island. It was a joy to be with our kids and grandkids for several fun-filled days together.

We’re also rejoicing in God’s kindness in allowing Linda to be part of the recent Radiant Women’s Conference at Hope Bible Church in Oakville. She spoke on a panel and presented a workshop on reaching neighbours and nations with the good news of Christ.

Here are several prayer requests for upcoming ministry opportunities that we’d ask you to remember when you pray for us.

Faith Mission Conference. This weekend, I (Rick) speak several times at the Thirsting for God Conference hosted by Faith Mission Canada. I’ll be preaching three messages: The God Who Thirsts (John 19:28); Thirsting for God when Life Gets Troubled (Psalm 42); and Thirsty No More (Revelation 7:9-17). Please join me in asking the Lord to use His Word to draw people to Jesus, the One who satisfies our deepest thirst!

Global Proclamation Academy. Next Thursday, I speak to a group of young pastoral leaders from over 20 countries. These men are part of the Global Proclamation Academy (Ramesh Richard and REACH Ministries). My three sessions are The Pastor and Ambition; The Pastor and Pain; The Pastor’s Closest Ally (his wife). Please pray that the Lord would make these sessions helpful for these young ministry leaders.

Preaching at Grandview Church. Starting in July, I begin serving as the Interim Preaching Pastor at Grandview Church in Kitchener, Ontario. Grandview’s excellent pastor, Bob McGregor, is retiring at the end of June. I’ve been asked to speak on Sundays for the rest of the summer and into the fall. Please ask the Lord to help me serve the church well as I preach on various Psalms (summer) and from the book of 1 Thessalonians (fall).

Thank you for praying with us and for us. It means a great deal and makes a great difference (John 15:7).
