Praise and Prayer Update (November 24, 2023)

Last week I asked you to pray with us about a number of speaking opportunities that were happening this week. I also asked you to pray for a trip we hoped to make to see our newest grandson (near Boston).

I want to thank you for praying as the Lord gave grace for each step of the way (including some unexpected ones!).

On Saturday, I was able to speak to a great group of men at the Impactus Conference in Burlington. It was a thrill to see so many men gathered to praise the Lord and learn from His Word.

On Sunday, I had the privilege of preaching a message on Romans 6 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Barrie. My last post on Bob Dylan, Paul Anka and the Apostle Paul tells more about this sermon.

On Tuesday, I spoke to the Heritage students, staff and faculty in chapel. Heritage College and Seminary helps prepare men and women for ministry and my message fit with that theme.

On Tuesday evening. LInda was at Heritage for a class she leads on Teaching English as a Second Language. It’s been a delight to watch these students grow in their ability to teach ESL and point people to Christ Jesus.

On Thursday (yesterday), we were slated to be in Ottawa where I was to speak at a lunch for ministry leaders and a fundraising dessert for One Way Ministries. BUT…the Lord had other plans.

On Wednesday morning, Linda woke up with a fever and sore throat. A Covid test confirmed that she had the virus. She’s been feeling crummy for the past several days but has been a trooper. So far, I’ve not come down with the virus.

So to fulfill the ministry opportunities in Ottawa, I video recorded a message for the ministry lunch and Zoomed in to speak at the One Way event last night. By God’s grace, it all worked out for the best.

Sadly, we won’t be traveling to see our kids and grandkids this weekend. That will have to wait for a later time.

Would you join us in thanking the Lord for his help this week. And would you please pray for Linda as she recovers from Covid.

Thank you for being partners with us through prayer.
