Praise and Prayer Update (June 24, 2023)

Let me begin with several reasons to praise the Lord!

Reed Family Gathering: Linda and I just returned from spending four days with our kids and grandkids. Our hearts are grateful to God for allowing all of us to be together in the same place at the same time (a rare occurrence since we live miles apart from one another). We enjoyed family barbeques, hikes in the forest, and swim times with grandkids. We even had family pictures taken in a beautiful outdoor setting.

Family Fun Fair: Today looks to be a fun-filled day at Heritage as we host our Family Fun Fair. All afternoon, Heritage students, grads and staff will be on campus to reconnect with friends, participate in a host of family-friendly activities, and listen to live music provided by Heritage alumni. At dinner time, we will enjoy a delicious pulled-pork B-B-Q dinner. This event is being put on by the Heritage Alumni committee in honour of the school’s 30th anniversary!

Construction Begun: This week we officially received our final building permits from the city. Thank you to all who prayed that this day would finally come! Now the construction process has begun! All week long, the construction site was busy with heavy equipment moving soil and preparing for the foundation to be laid. Join with us in thanking God for answering prayer and allowing the project to move forward. I’ll keep you posted how things are progressing in the coming months!

Here are several prayer requests to remember this week:

Prayer for Linda: Linda is speaking to a group of women at Hope Church Mississauga this morning. Pray that her message on being “Uniquely His” will deeply touch and shape the lives of each woman who comes.

Prayer for Rick: Tomorrow, I’m preaching at the Farewell service for Pastor John and Andrea Mahaffey. John is retiring after 15 fruitful years as the lead pastor at West Highland Baptist Church in Hamilton. John is a godly man and gifted preacher who has served with distinction. It’s my joy to be part of the service to honour the Mahaffeys and give praise to God. Please ask the Lord to empower me as I preach from Hebrews 13:7.

Thank you for praying for us and with us.
