Praise and Prayer Update (September 16, 2022)

It’s been an amazing week at Heritage College and Seminary. I sense the Lord has answered many of our prayers.

Our Convocation service on Tuesday set the right tone for a year of focused study and training. Students are getting off to a strong start in their courses. New students seem to be connecting well with others. Our Board Retreat (last Tuesday and Wednesday) was both spiritually uplifting and strategically important. The ESL ministry that Linda leads (with the help of Heritage students and grads) had a joyful launch as well. My heart is glad in the goodness of God.

We also have some significant needs and opportunities for which to pray:

One of our staff members, Kirsha MacLeod-Fitzgerald, had major surgery for cancer several weeks back. She remains in hospital as she continues to battle recurring infections that slow the healing process. Would you pray for God’s healing touch on her body? Please pray for her husband, John, and two sons as they manage life without mom at home.

Linda and I are scheduled to co-teach a class called Reaching the World: Local, National, and Global Evangelism. The course runs four parts of four days (Oct 7-8, Nov 19, Dec 10). At this point, we have a good number of women signed up but only two men. I’d love to see more men take advantage of this heart-stretching course. Please pray with us for more men to join in. If you’d like to take the course (on campus or online), you can find more about it here.

The new seminary building is continuing through the design and permit phase. We are delighted at the way the building is taking shape. At the same time, we are working hard to keep the costs of the building in line with our budget (inflationary costs of materials make this a challenge). Pray for wisdom for our leadership team as we oversee the project.

Thank you again for praying!
