Praise and Prayer Update (January 14, 2022)

This past Monday, we launched into a new semester at Heritage College and Seminary. As you can imagine, we will need God’s direction and protection as we navigate the challenges brought about by the spreading COVID virus. I’m grateful for each of you who help us through your prayers (2 Corinthians 1:11).

Here are some prayer requests I’d ask you to remember when you pray for Heritage:

Strength to Serve. Over Christmas, both Linda and I contracted the virus. At least we think we did; we are still waiting for the official results of our PCR tests. After several weeks of feeling sick, we are both on the mend. Today, I (Rick) am scheduled to teach an all-day, online course on pastoral leadership. Please ask the Lord to grant me strength to serve the dozen seminary students in this course.

ESL Outreach. Linda and I are hosting an online gathering for her ESL students this Sunday evening. Our desire is to encourage these men and women who are new to Canada. We also want to point them to the hope that we have through faith in Christ Jesus. Please pray they will come and open their hearts to God’s love and grace.

Spiritual Impact. In spite of the challenges, all of us at Heritage remain passionately committed to the mission of training men and women for spiritual service. We are leaning on His guidance and grace as we move forward through the semester. Please intercede for us, asking God to accomplish His good purposes in the midst of these challenging times. Pray that God works powerfully in the lives of the students He has called to prepare for ministry.
