My heart rejoices as I write this update. It’s been a wonderful week at Heritage. Yesterday, I (Rick) had the privilege of speaking in seminary chapel and the joy of listening to nine student sermons in the homiletics class I teach. As many of you know, I have a deep desire and calling to help train up those who will serve as future pastors and preachers. Watching these young preachers develop and grow brings great joy.
Another reason for rejoicing was watching our students go Christmas caroling in the neighbourhoods around the school. This is one of the ways Heritage students are seeking to bring the love and light of Christ to the people in Hespeler village.
As we head to the close of the semester, I’d ask you to join in praying for these requests:
This Sunday, I (Rick) am preaching at Wallenstein Bible Chapel’s Sunday services. Pray that my Advent Sermon would point people to Christ and the peace He brings.
On Tuesday, December 7th, some of our seminary students will help rip up and remove carpet at Dr. Stan and Donna Fowler’s new home. Stan will be released from rehab in the coming weeks but will be in a wheelchair. The Fowlers have purchased a home in Cambridge that better suits Stan’s needs. Our students will help get the home ready for Stan’s arrival. Later in the month, some of our students will help carry boxes on move in day. Please pray that the entire process would go well and that the Fowlers would quickly get settled in their new home. Also, please continue to pray for Stan’s rehab process.
This is “crunch time” for students at Heritage as they finish term papers and prepare for finals. Pray for spiritual growth, emotional stamina, and physical health. We thank the Lord that we are still COVID free on campus. Please pray that this continues.
