It’s been a wonderful launch at Heritage College and Seminary. Over the past week we’ve had our annual student retreat at the Schoenmaker’s Farm, held our Convocation service, and started a full slate of classes.
I (Rick) have had the joy of teaching in several courses this week (Christian Formation and Homiletics). Linda is preparing for a women’s course called Developing Life Changing Curriculum that runs next Friday and Saturday (there’s still time to sign up for it).
As we begin this term, I’m continually mindful of our need for God’s grace, guidance and protection. To that end, here are some prayer requests I’d ask you to remember as you pray for us.
ESL MINISTRY. Linda oversees Heritage’s English as a Second Language ministry. She has the joy of working with Heritage students and grads to teach English to new Canadians and introduce them to the love and truth of Christ. Please pray for Linda and the students who run this ministry. Ask the Lord to bring many new Canadians to be part of this exciting outreach.
SPIRITUAL LIFE CHAPELS: Next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I (Rick) will be speaking at on campus for our Spiritual Life Week chapels. Please ask the Lord to empower me to bring His Word to the hearts of our students, faculty and staff. We want the year to be a spiritually rich time of growth for all at Heritage.
THE FOWLERS and the BEACHES. As I’ve posted before, we are praying for Stan and Donna Fowler and Mark and Theresa Beach. Stan, who teaches theology at the seminary, suffered a severe stroke this summer and is still in hospital. Today (Friday) he has a medical procedure to drain fluids that are hindering his recovering. Mark Beach, who is married to our Registar Theresa Beach, contracted COVID last April and remains in ICU. Please ask the Lord to sustain them and restore them. They are continually on our hearts and in our prayers.
Thank you for praying for us! It’s a great encouragement to me to have friends bring our names and needs to the Lord in prayer.
