Praise and Prayer Update (May 29, 2020)

This has been a week full of leadership meetings at Heritage as we seek to make decisions related to the fall semester. So much is unknown to us. Thankfully, we know the One who knows and controls the future. So we make plans by faith, trusting His guidance and submitting to His greater will.

I thank the Lord for a united leadership team and committed group of faculty and staff. The upheaval caused by the pandemic has forced us to adapt, adjust and even acquire new capabilities. What we are learning and developing in the area of Distance Learning courses will help the school expand its reach in the months ahead. I believe God is giving Heritage an enlarged assignment in the area of training men and women for life and ministry.

Here are some prayer requests I would ask you to remember this week:

  1. Pray for the rollout of information related to the fall semester. All colleges and universities, including Heritage, will need to make changes in the way we deliver courses and run the campus. Pray for a good reception among current and prospective students. Pray our enrolment would remain strong. If you’d like to explore online classes for the college or seminary, you can do so here.

  2. Ask the Lord to provide needed funds for the school in this challenging time. The financial fallout triggered by the fallout has adversely impacted us. Pray we would still finish our financial year in a good position (our financial year ends June 30). If you would like to contribute to the needs of the school, you can do so here.

  3. Pray for the impact of the Virtual Women’s Retreat on June 6th. Linda has the joy of being the Bible teacher for the retreat. Ask the Lord to use His Word to strengthen each woman who attends. It’s not too late to register for this free, one-day, online retreat hosted by Muskoka Bible Centre. Here’s the link to sign up.

Thank you for your concern and prayers.
