What did Jesus mean when He said, “Do not judge”?

“Do not judge or you too will be judged” (Matthew 7:1).

This has to be one of the most popular verses in all the Bible in our day. Even people who don’t read the Bible seem to know about it. Why, even people who don’t believe the Bible think this verse is believable.

Those who are feeling judged by Christians will sometimes ask, “Didn’t Jesus say, ‘Don’t judge or you’ll be judged’? Why are Christians so judgmental and intolerant of others’ beliefs and behaviours?”

Last Sunday, I was invited to preach on this verse at Carruthers Creek Community Church (C4 Church). Since this topic is one that affects all of us, I’ve attached it below.
