This week marked the official start of the new year at Heritage College and Seminary. We’re grateful for the new and returning students who will be receiving biblical and ministry training at Heritage this year. Canadian churches need more godly, gifted, and equipped spiritual leaders. I’m grateful the Lord is using Heritage to help meet that need.
As you think of us, I’d welcome your prayers for the following requests:
Our Fall Courses: Both Linda and I begin teaching tomorrow (September 14th). Linda will be joined by Dr. Terri Stoval (Southwestern Theological Seminary) to teach a course for women active in serving the Lord in their local churches. I’ll be teaching a preaching course, training faithful expositors of God’s Word. Please ask the Lord to empower us and to work mightily in the life of each student in our courses.
Grandview Church. Since July, I (Rick) have been serving as the interim preaching pastor at Grandview Church in Kitchener. I’m just beginning a new series in the book of 1 Thessalonians. Please pray for the Lord to use these messages in the lives of those who listen in person and online.
ESL Groups. Linda will be helping lead two ESL (English as a Second Language) groups this fall. One group starts this Thursday (1:00 – 3:00 pm) at Heritage. On September 21st, she will helping lead an ESL group at Grandview Church. Pray for many new Canadians to come to learn English and to be introduced to the love and message of Jesus.
New Seminary Building. I’ve been delighted to hear that construction on our new seminary building is progressing very well. Pray for the project to be completed and for the new seminary building to be incredibly useful for classes and conferences.
Thank you for praying for us and with us!
