Praise and Prayer Update (April 22, 2024)

The next few weeks are full of some exciting ministry opportunities. I wanted to give you an update and invite you to pray with us, asking the Lord for His strength and grace as we serve.

Open Toronto Initiative. Linda and I will be spending most of this week in downtown Toronto on a vision trip led by ABWE Canada (Across Borders for World Evangelization). Did you know Toronto has more unreached people groups than any major city in the world? We will spend our days visiting neighbourhoods in the GTA to get a better sense of the size and scope of the gospel need in Toronto. Please pray that the Lord will strengthen and stretch our hearts to be more like His heart for the world.

Graduation Weekend at Heritage. This Friday night Heritage hosts its annual graduation banquet for the college and seminary. Linda and I have the joy of bringing a final challenge to these graduating men and women. On Saturday, April 27th, we will celebrate the college graduation (10:00 am) and the seminary graduation (2:30 pm). Please pray that the Lord will lead and guide each of these graduates into a life of service for Christ, His Church, and His global mission.

Stronger Conference. Next Tuesday, Linda is a workshop speaker at the Stronger Conference in Barrie, Ontario. She will team up with another woman to lead a workshop session entitled: “Beautiful and Wise: Thriving as a Complementarian Woman.” Please pray that the workshop will be a great encouragement to all who attend.

Interim Preaching Pastor. I (Rick) have recently accepted a three-month, interim preaching role at Grandview Baptist Church in Kitchener.  Their lead pastor, Bob McGregor, is retiring at the end of June.  The elders at Grandview have asked me to preach on Sundays in July through September.  I’m happy to do so. Please pray that the Lord will allow me to serve the congregation well by preaching His Word each Sunday.

Thank you for supporting us through your prayers! We are very grateful.
