As we move into November, we hit the homestretch of the semester at Heritage. Linda and I both are treasuring the opporunity to train students who want to serve the Lord for a lifetime. Yesterday, I listened to six student’s preach in our homiletics class. What a joy to see their desire to faithfully and effectively communicate God’s Word. Some of them will be pastoral leaders and preachers in the coming years!
Linda was at Heritage early this morning to help launch her Great Women of the Faith course. Today, Dr. Michael Haykin is teaching the class, focusing on faithful women from centuries ago. It’s our desire to see Heritage train men and women who will be faithful to Christ and servants of His Church and global mission.
Thank you for praying for LInda as she presented at a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Conference last Saturday. She got to coach other ESL leaders on how to integrate the message of Christ as they teach English.
Here are a few requests for the coming week:
On Thursday, November 9th, Heritage will host its annual Preaching Lectures. This year, Pastor Ryan Fullerton, is coming up from Louisville, Kentucky to be our guest presenter. Please ask the Lord to use Ryan to strengthen and stretch each of the students and pastors who will attend.
Next Sunday, November 12th, I (Rick) am preaching at Grandview Church in Kitchener, ON. The 180 Worship Band from Heritage will be joining me to lead the musical worship. Please pray that the Lord works in many hearts through the ministry of music and the preaching of His Word.
