We can praise the Lord together for answered prayer related to the accreditation visit from the team from ABHE (Association for Biblical Higher Education). Dr. Barry Howson reported that the visit went well. We received several commendations and some recommendations for further improvement. In the coming months, we will receive a more detailed report related to the recommendations so we can lean into those areas for improvement. Thanks for praying for this important matter.
Here are a few time-sensitive requests for this weekend and the coming week.
Heritage’s 30th Anniversary Banquet. On Saturday evening, Heritage will host a banquet in honour of our 30th anniversary as a school. This occasion provides an opportunity to look back at what God has done and look forward in anticipation of what He will yet do. Marvin Brubacher (the school’s first president) will be giving some reflections on his 20+ years as president. I will have the privilege of presenting the keynote address. I’d ask for your prayers as I present my talk. Ask the Lord to use me to provide encouragement for the past and a challenge for the future.
Pastors and Wives Marriage & MInistry Retreat. Next Monday through Thursday, Linda and I speak at a retreat for pastoral couples. This retreat, hosted by Muskoka Bible Centre, is focused on the theme of Tension Points and Turning Points. We will address areas that cause challenges for those in pastoral ministry–challenges we’ve faced in our years of ministry and marriage! Please pray that God will work powerfully in the hearts of each one who attends. We know that some of the couples are coming with heavy hearts. Pray that ministry marriages would be refreshed and strengthened.
