Praise and Prayer Update (September 8, 2023)

Labour Day Monday was a big day for us–both as a school and as the Reed family.

On Labour Day the new, first-year students arrived on campus to move into the residence halls. It’s always an exciting day to meet them and their parents. Linda and I had the joy of speaking to the parents in an orientation session, thanking them for all they have invested in the lives of their children and encouraging them to trust God’s good work to continue through the ministry of Heritage College and Seminary.

Labour Day was also a big day for the Reed family as well. We had another grandson born on Labour Day evening (after his mother laboured all day at the hospital). We are thanking the Lord for little Noah Reed! God graciously brought him safely into the world.

Here are a few prayer requests for the coming week that I’d ask you to remember.

New School Year. Please ask the Lord to help each new (and returning) Heritage student to begin the year well. Pray that they will adjust quickly to the rigors and joys of college/seminary life. Pray that our profs would be empowered to teach with passion and excellence. Pray that God would shape us all into faithful servants for Christ, His Church, and His global mission.

Rick’s Mother. Yesterday we learned that Rick’s mom (who lives in Portland, Oregon) was admitted to the hospital with breathing problems. Please pray that she will receive stellar care and experience God’s peace and healing grace. Pray for my two sisters who live near mom and are always willing to help. Pray for Linda and me as we consider traveling to the West Coast to be with her at this time.

Thank you for praying for us and with us!
